The Yorkshire based team have been a leading force in Ginetta competition for a number of years, having won a third drivers’ title in the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge last season on top of two teams’ crowns and a Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup ‘Am class’ success.
The team’s entry into the GT Academy comes with Danny Dwyer, who made his car-racing debut in the championship’s rookie class last year. A strong maiden campaign saw him pick up two class podium finishes and seven overall top ten results, with the London based racer now moving up to the headline GTA class for 2022.
Danny Dwyer: “I’m really excited to get back out on track and continue my racing journey with Xentek Motorsport. We’re hoping to improve from a strong foundation in my rookie season to challenge for some silverware.”
Christopher Richards, Xentek Motorsport Team Principal: “We are thrilled to have Danny on board for 2022 and it’s a great opportunity for us moving into the championship. Danny did incredible in his rookie season, and we are looking forward to working closely with him and improving his skills.”
The Ginetta GT Academy gives drivers of all experience levels the opportunity to enjoy entry level GT racing. The series offers an uncompromising package of high performance racing at an affordable cost, with the exposure of competing at British GT and BTCC events.
