Orton continues with the team for a second year following a great 2020 season together in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship. An impressive record of six podium finishes in eight races took him to second overall in the standings and the rookie class title.
Prior to that, the 16 year old from Nottingham was successful in national and international level karting. Amongst his honours was winning the Junior ROK category in the 2019 Super One Championship, and securing the Junior X30 class honours in the SKRC Club Championship last year.
Will Orton: “I look forward to stepping up to the Ginetta GT5 Challenge this season. The championship offers great racing and was the logical next step for me and the team moving forward. I’m happy to continue my partnership with Alastair Rushforth Motorsport.
“We achieved great success last year in the Fiesta’s and I hope to emulate it in my first year of GT racing. I’d also like to thank my fantastic partners for their support so far: Cyfor, Green Recycling and Valley Composite Products.”
Packed grids and close racing makes the Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. In 2021, the series will compete across both British GT and British Touring Car Championship weekends, sharing a grid with the G40 Cup.
