Rydman is the driver to beat in the championship, having won each of the last four drivers’ titles and five in total. He started the opening weekend by posting the quickest ever pole lap on the former Grand Prix circuit, as an impressive 19 car grid battled it out.
The Swedish racer went on to win the rain-affected first race by 12 seconds from Jesper Ramsberg and Robin Lassander, before starring in the sunshine with another victory in race two.
A fantastic battle over the remaining podium positions in the second race saw a group of six drivers in contention. Only 2.5 seconds separated them at the finish, with Ramsberg second again ahead of Kevin Blomberg.
In the Senior category for drivers over 50 years, Niklas Kristiansson won the class in sixth overall in the opener, while newcomer Ola Gustafsson raced to a surprise win in the second outing.
The 2022 season continues at a new circuit, Ljungbyhed Park, next month (03/04 June).
