Reigning champion Rydman took both race wins during an entertaining season opener at Anderstop Raceway last month, and he was back at the top of the timesheets during qualifying as the championship made its first ever visit to Ljungbyhed.
An action-packed opening race saw early contact between Rydman and fellow front-row starter Kevin Blomberg put them both off circuit. Alexzander Kristiansson took the lead for a few laps, before Ramsberg led through to a dramatic, incident-packed final lap.
The recovering duo of Blomberg and Rydman eventually finished one-two on the road, however post-race penalties for both ultimately meant it was Ramsberg who took the victory. Rydman and Blomberg joined him on the podium ahead of Peter Wiborg and Kristiansson.
It was Kristiansson who led at the start of race two, however four-time champion Rydman fought back after losing early ground and went on to score his third win of the season. Kristiansson finished second ahead of Ramsberg, Wiborg and Andreas Lundin.
In the championship’s senior class, Ola Gustafsson followed up a debut win at Anderstorp with a double success. Niklas Kristiansson was second in both, with Kari Mäkinen and Roger Joleby picking up a third place finish each.
The 2022 season continues at Falkenberg, next month (09/10 July).
