The Ginetta GT Academy returns for a new season in 2024. The championship is making its third visit to the scenic Cheshire circuit.
The GT Academy offers drivers of all ages and experience levels the opportunity to compete in entry level GT racing. Drivers will challenge themselves on a grid of identical Ginetta G56 GTA race cars. The championship features two categories, overall and rookie.
The 2024 season will see six former GTA drivers competing to claim the Ginetta GT Academy overall championship prize. This season the prize is free entry and use of a Ginetta G56 GT Pro car for the 2025 Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship!
Marc Elman (SVG Motorsport), returns for his 3rd season of racing in GTA. Julian Wantling returns to GTA with E3Sport alongside Mike West. Also returning to the championship, moving up from rookies, are Amy Tomlinson (W2R), Emma Tomlinson (W2R), Lucy Tomlinson (W2R) and Charlotte Lowe (W2R).
There are 11 rookies joining the grid in 2024, 10 starting their season at Oulton.
Debuting last season at the final round at Donington Park, Luke Shaw took an impressive 3 wins. He finished 6th overall. Thomas Balfe (W2R) made his debut with Luke Shaw, achieving a class podium. Both battled hard in their first race, we can look forward to a year of close racing between them!
Making their racing debuts and taking the first steps into GT racing, Ali Al Juffali (SVG Motorsport), Mike Taylor (Want2Race), Gareth Thomas (Want2Race), Peter Thompson (Want2Race), Paul Thomas (Want2Race), Harry Gamble (Elite Motorsport) and making the GT Academy the Championship with most female drivers, Lucie Hodgson (Want2Race)!
They are joined by PalmerSport Scholarship winner James Nicholas who will be hosted by the Want2Race team for the season.
