Steed (Xentek Motorsport) has scored at least one victory in each of the four race weekends so far this season, with the latest outing at Donington Park producing a pair of wins to make it six for the year. Two further podium finishes have helped build a 35 point championship lead.
His closest challenger in the points is Will Aspin (Elite Motorsport), who has produced a superb run of nine podium finishes in the ten races across the campaign to date. Donington Park was a standout weekend for the Ginetta Junior graduate, as he strengthened his title bid with a maiden win.
John Bennett (Elite Motorsport) is the other race-winner on the grid, with a victory on each of the opening three meetings launching his title bid. Another star performer has been Ben McKenna (Xentek Motorsport), who’s scored four podiums in five races since making his debut.
David Ellesley (Race Car Consultants) and Connor Grady (Alastair Rushforth Motorsport) are the only other drivers to score a podium this year, with Magnus Kriklywi (Race Car Consultants) firmly knocking on the door with fourth place finishes in three of the last four races.
A talented entry features numerous potential podium contenders, including Will Orton (Alastair Rushforth Motorsport), Mikey Doble (Xentek Motorsport) and Haytham Qarajouli (TCR). They’ve each scored fourth place finishes in their maiden GT5 Challenge campaigns.
Harley Haughton (Elite Motorsport) and Will Rochford (TCR) have featured in the lead pack multiple times this year, each picking up best finishes of fifth, while Nat Hodgkiss (Race Car Consultants) enjoyed a top six breakthrough last time out.
Rory McKean (SVG Motorsport) produced a strong performance on his long-awaited series return at Donington Park, while Ginetta G40 Cup graduates Owen Hizzey (SVG Motorsport) and Ignazio Zanon (Raceway Motorsport) have made good progress across the season. Aidan Hills (Hills Motorsport) returns to the grid this weekend, while Silas Rytter (Breakell Racing) makes his championship debut.
