Miracco will be entering his fourth consecutive season in Ginetta competition, having entered the GT5 Challenge back in 2017. During his two year spell in that series, the Surrey based racer showcased his potential with regular front-running performances.
The 20 year old graduated to the GT4 SuperCup last year and produced a hugely impressive maiden campaign. Superbly securing a maiden podium finish in only the fourth race he contested, he went on to be a near-permanent fixture in the top six through the year.
After ending the campaign with a podium finish in each of the final four meetings, Miracco is now determined to take the next step in the series and challenge for a maiden race victory and more in 2020. He will compete with the support of Kallkwik.
Carlito Miracco: “I’ve known Oliver [Barnard] and the team at Preptech for a long time now and I’ve always got on really well with all of them, so it’s great to be teaming up this year. Personally, I’m delighted to be in the GT4 SuperCup again in 2020.
“It was a last minute deal to join the championship last year, just a week before the second round at Donington Park, so while the year wasn’t by any means perfect, considering it was just my family and a few friends in a little pop-up awning I think we did pretty well.
“I love racing and appreciate we are so lucky to be able to do what we do. I believe this year will be great, with more time to prepare along with the help from Preptech, we’re very happy and I am really excited to get going this year.”
Preptech UK’s entry into the GT4 SuperCup is an exciting new challenge for the Hampshire based team, who are bringing a wealth of experience to the grid having raced in sprint and endurance formats across the UK and beyond for more than a decade.
Oliver Barnard, Team Principal: “We have known Carlito for many years and have occasionally helped with setup work on previous cars he’s raced, as well as monitor his talent closely when he’s been part of the Preptech team for a few endurance events.
“Our deal has come together fairly late but very quickly, and we are obviously thrilled to have Carlito representing our team in the GT4 SuperCup. No one-make series is easy, especially when you are perceived as a new team, but we firmly believe that we will provide Carlito with all the tools he needs in order to attempt a run at the championship.”
The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship, with a three-class structure incorporating Pro, Pro Am and Am categories. In 2020, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
