The Danish teenager, who now resides in Nottingham, made his Ginetta debut last year as he contested the final two events of the GT5 Challenge season. Running with Race Car Consultants, he secured a best finish of 12th in the penultimate race of the year at Donington Park.
Previously, the 16 year old had progressed through the karting ranks in his homeland in Denmark, as well as contesting races across Europe. He moved into car-racing in 2018 and won the Ford Fiesta Junior Championship at the first attempt.
Magnus Kriklywi: “It will be good getting back racing in the Ginetta GT5 car again and this time for a whole season. I’m excited to continue the successful partnership with David Ellesley and Race Car Consultants. This year racing the full season, I look forward to seeing how far we can push in the championship.”
Kriklywi is Race Car Consultants’ first confirmed driver for this season, with the Suffolk-based outfit aiming to add another car to their line-up. They enjoyed an impressive 2019 campaign in the GT5 Challenge, recording regular top ten finishes through the year.
David Ellesley, Team Owner: “I am delighted to welcome Magnus back to the Ginetta GT5 Challenge with us for 2020. After two race meetings last year Magnus is back for a full season campaign and we have structured our testing and training programme towards a full championship attack.
“I am optimistic we will hit the ground running come the season opener at Oulton Park and continue to push forward for the entire season.”
Packed grids and close racing makes the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. In 2020, the series will compete across both British GT and British Touring Car Championship weekends, with three outings on each support bill.
