The Scotland based racer, who was previously a champion and twice runner-up in the Fun Cup Endurance Championship, made his Ginetta racing debut last year. He was a colourful addition to the grid in his distinctive red, white and blue Dominos liveried Ginetta G55.
Dawes enjoyed a strong first season, breaking into the top six in only his second event and going on to record eight top ten finishes across the campaign. For 2022, he will be behind the wheel of one of the new Ginetta G56 GT4’s.
Henry Dawes: “Last year was a massive step up for me and I loved it, this year will be another step with the new, more powerful SuperCup car. I’ve really enjoyed the couple of times I’ve driven it so far and feel a lot more comfortable with it than this time last season. I can’t wait to get started and hear all those V8’s on track together!”
Nathan Freke – Century Motorsport Team Principal: “I’m really pleased to be working with Henry for another year. He’s a great guy to have in the team and he’s taken to the new car like a duck to water. We have a good testing programme and I’m hoping we can see him on that podium in 2022!
“It’s also nice to be taking the step up with the new Ginetta G56 GT4. We have taken delivery of the car and it’s nice to see how Ginetta have developed various areas of the car along with giving it a lot more power. It’s a very nicely rounded car so credit to them.”
The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2022, the series will be contested over seven race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship, with a major change seeing the introduction of the Ginetta G56 GT4 as the lead car.
