The entry into France’s premier GT4 championship will see Ginetta factory driver Charlie Robertson and current Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup driver Darren Leung team up to share a G56 GT4.
Following in the footsteps of the incredibly successful Ginetta G55 GT4, which enjoyed countless victories in GT championships around the world, the G56 GT4 has showcased its huge potential already with impressive performances in the British GT Championship and 24H Series.
This weekend’s outing will mark the latest chapter in the continued development of the V8 powered machine, with the opportunity to pit the car against an ultra-competitive 43 car field featuring no less than seven other GT4 manufacturers.
Charlie Robertson, Ginetta Factory Driver: “We’re looking forward to this weekend and competing in our Ginetta G56 GT4 against a very competitive field. With our existing knowledge and experience racing the car, I’m confident Darren and I can put in a strong performance.”
Darren Leung: “I’m really excited to make my debut in the French GT4 series this weekend. It’s a great chance to race alongside Charlie on one of the best circuits in the world, and continue building my experience in the Ginetta G56 GT4.”
Mike Simpson, Ginetta Head of Motorsport: “This is a great way for us to re-enter the European GT4 market. We’ve previously made a big impression in leading European championships with the G50 and G55 models, and we’re confident the Ginetta G56 GT4 has all the attributes to enjoy great success as well.”
The French GT4 entry means that two Ginetta’s will be in action as part of the SRO Speedweek event at Spa this weekend, as Assetto Motorsport continue their British GT campaign with Freddie Tomlinson and Joe Wheeler piloting their G56 GT4.
