Ginetta is proud to support F1 in Schools at it’s UK National Finals held in Leeds, helping to inspire and promote the next generation of engineering talent as students and teams compete to become the F1 in Schools National Champion 2023.
The event will be hosted at the University of Leeds, June 29th – July 1st, and attended by over 500 students. It is the culmination of an extensive series of F1 in Schools Regional Finals. These have taken place across England, Scotland, and Wales over the past nine months. Following these localised events, the top teams from each region will now come together over the three-day event. They’ll showcase their work in designing, manufacturing, and branding miniature F1 cars. Teams will also race their builds on a 20-metre racetrack.
Ginetta’s Motorsport Manager, Mike Simpson will present to all participating teams. He aims to inspire the next generation of engineering talents. He’ll give an insight into the race cars that Ginetta design, build and develop at its 75,000 sq. ft factory, located in Leeds. As an official F1 in Schools event sponsor, two trophies will be presented to class winning teams of the Ginetta Sponsorship and Marketing Award at the UK Nationals ceremony on Friday 30th June.
To showcase the best of British race car manufacturing, Ginetta have displayed two of its most iconic builds at the event. The Ginetta Junior race car and Le Mans Prototype car were showcased. The G40 Junior and LMP1 Le Mans car represents the evolution of engineering, design and manufacturing excellence. These values have been at the heart of the brand since it was established in 1958.
