Multiple Ginetta champions Xentek Motorsport will be contesting their first full season in the Ginetta Junior Championship this year, continuing an exciting partnership with talented young rookie Felix Livesey that started in the 2022 Winter Series.
The Ginetta Junior Championship is the UK’s longest running and most prestigious junior racing series, having launched the careers of numerous motorsport stars for over a decade, including current Formula 1 star Lando Norris and reigning BTCC champion Tom Ingram.
Following an initial entry into the Ginetta Junior Winter Series back in 2015, the South Yorkshire team returned to the season-ending mini-series last November in preparation for a full-time assault on the championship this year.
Amongst their line-up for the Winter Series was rising star Livesey. With no previous racing experience under his belt, the Preston-based racer faced a steep learning curve at Brands Hatch, but took it all in his stride and produced an impressive performance.
The 14-year-old Lancastrian beat some more experienced rivals to secure best qualifying and race results of 12th position. Full of confidence following his strong debut, Livesey is now ready to progress up the order this season as he races with support from LCM Ltd.
Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Team Manager: “We’ve been looking to enter the Ginetta Junior Championship for the last couple of years, so we’re delighted to have got this programme together with Felix [Livesey] to join the grid full-time.
“Felix showed great potential when he joined us for the Winter Series, and he’s made some huge progress across our pre-season testing programme so far. We’re excited to see what he can do this season.”
Felix Livesey: “I’m really excited to be supported by the Xentek Motorsport team in the Ginetta Junior Championship and I can’t wait for the year ahead. My ambition for my rookie season is to make my way up the grid with each session on track, eventually challenging for pole positions and podium finishes.”
The 2023 Ginetta Junior Championship will be contested over 24 races across eight race weekends, with six outings in support of the British GT Championship and two standalone Ginetta events. The series will benefit from live online streaming of selected races across Ginetta’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
