Duggan will continue his ascent up the Ginetta motorsport ladder with the Essex-based team this season. After making his debut in the Ginetta Racing Drivers’ Club in 2018 and taking six top ten finishes in eight races, he moved into the G40 Cup last year.
A brilliant campaign for the 45 year old produced nine class podium finishes on his way to third in the final Chairmans Cup points standings, with best overall results of sixth at Zandvoort and Brands Hatch. The Acclaim Contracts Ltd supported driver will line up in the Am Class this year.
Ian Duggan: “After the amount of success we enjoyed in the Ginetta G40 Cup last year, I knew I had to push myself to the next level and I’m hugely excited about stepping up. The GT5 car feels like a proper racing car should and with Fox’s great record in GT5 Am, I know I’m in good hands.”
Marshall meanwhile made his car-racing debut in the 2016 GT5 Challenge under the mentorship of Le Mans 24 Hours winner and current Ginetta World Endurance Championship racer Guy Smith, and scored a career-best second place finish two years later at the Donington Park season finale.
The 24 year old from East Yorkshire went on to contest one round in the series last season, taking a pair of 12th place finishes at Donington Park, and he now returns for 2020 with Pro class title aspirations in his Kitchen Meister-supported Ginetta G40.
Ashley Marshall: “I’m thrilled to get back onto the grid for a full season in what I think is probably the most competitive and action-packed one-make series in the UK. I think that with the team’s help, I can be up to speed pretty quickly and my ultimate aim is to challenge for the title.”
Fox Motorsport are entering their fourth consecutive season in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge. After winning the Am title in 2018, they finished third in both the Pro and Am rankings last year with Gordie Mutch and James Townsend respectively.
Paul McNeilly, Team Principal: “This will be our fourth year in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge and every year we’ve improved; culminating in our first overall win and a title challenge last season. Ian’s been one of the revelations of our team recently, while in Ashley we have a tremendously talented young driver.”
