Morris will return for his first full season in the GT4 SuperCup as the latest chapter of his journey with Ginetta, which started back in 2018 as he made his car-racing debut in the Ginetta Racing Drivers’ Club.
After making his Ginetta G40 Cup debut the same year, he tackled that championship full-time in 2019. A fantastic season saw him challenge for the title, with 14 podium finishes in 17 races ultimately securing him third in the final standings.
The Worcestershire based racer starred on his GT4 SuperCup debut at Snetterton in 2020, taking a hat-trick of Am class wins. He tackled four events last year meanwhile, picking up three wins and eight podiums in the Pro Am class.
Dan Morris: “Ginetta have been a massive part of my racing over the last four years starting in GRDC in 2018, to progress with wins in G40 Cup, GT5 and GT4 SuperCup AM Class. I’m looking forward to my first full season in the GT4 SuperCup after only completing in half the race weekends in 2022.
“I’m also excited to build on the progress Simon Green Motorsport and I have made over the last 12 months. With the competitors already announced it’s going to be a exciting and fun season ahead.”
Simon Green, Team Principal: “Having Dan back for 2022 is great for the team. Despite only selected rounds in 2021, Dan was always in the mix. Nine podiums out of 11 races was a great run of consistency considering our restricted testing etc. We can’t wait for a full season in 2022 with him.”
The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2022, the series will be contested over seven race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship, with a major change seeing the introduction of the Ginetta G56 GT4 as the lead car.
