The Scotland based racer enters one-make Ginetta competition for the first time with a successful history in the Fun Cup Endurance Championship. Dawes was crowned champion in 2018, and also finished as vice-champion in 2017 and 2019.
Dawes has experience behind the wheel of a Ginetta G55, having taken a superb triple class win during a one-off outing in the GT Cup last year. He’s also enjoyed outings in Britcar and Legends during his ten year racing career to date.
Henry Dawes: “After getting behind the wheel of the G55 at the end of last year I knew I had to race it at the top level, the combination of the GT4 Supercup and the expertise of Century Motorsport were the perfect fit.
“Being relatively inexperienced in sprint racing, the knowledge and support of Nathan and the team will be invaluable and I just can’t wait to get started.”
Century Motorsport are one of the most successful teams in GT4 SuperCup history, having won multiple class titles. Dawes joins the previously announced Andy Spencer and Blake Angliss in the Warwickshire squad’s 2021 entry.
Nathan Freke, Team Owner: “I am really happy to have Henry as part of our Supercup campaign. We saw him race the G55 last year and were really impressed with his pace so when he got in touch about the GT4 Supercup we were very keen to make the deal happen. He’s a great fit and we are very much looking forward to working with him.”
The Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2021, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
