Qarajouli made his car-racing debut in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2019 and enjoyed an impressive campaign. Breaking into the top ten overall in only his second event, he went on to score a brilliant pair of rookie class podium finishes at Silverstone.
After taking a year out from motorsport in 2020, the Kuwait driver will embark on his second season of racing this year as he moves up the Ginetta ladder. He has hopes for a successful campaign alongside two-time GT5 Challenge title winners Total Control Racing.
Haytham Qarajouli: “I am thrilled to be returning to racing with TCR after taking a year out. I am aiming to learn as much as possible and continue to improve as a driver, and hopefully achieve some good results in the upcoming season.”
Lee Brookes, team manager: “I am very pleased Haytham is returning to the Total Control Racing squad for 2021. He’s an exciting young talent and his pace in testing so far has been very impressive, so I’m sure he will be a front-runner this season.”
Packed grids and close racing makes the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. In 2021, the series will compete across both British GT and British Touring Car Championship weekends, sharing a grid with the G40 Cup.
