Grady will be continuing a long association with Ginetta, having made his Juniors debut back in 2015. A second place finish at Knockhill the following year was his best result across three seasons in the series, before he moved up to the GT5 Challenge in 2018.
The Surrey based racer scored a brilliant maiden podium at Spa-Francorchamps in his debut campaign, before picking up a couple more in 2019 en-route to a top six championship finish. After a one-off outing last year, he’s now making a full-time return to the series.
Alastair Rushforth Motorsport are making their GT5 Challenge debuts this year, having been podium finishers in each of the last two seasons in the Juniors. Grady is their second confirmed driver for 2021, joining reigning Ford Fiesta Junior vice-champion Will Orton.
Alastair Rushforth, team owner: “It was great being a one-car team in the Juniors, taking on the big boys like David v Goliath, but we knew that expanding our line-up and having team-mates working together would help push us forwards on the grid this year.
“I’ve known Connor a long time, since he raced Fiesta Juniors six years ago, and I’m delighted to have him onboard. He’s a quick driver with pedigree in this championship as a podium-finisher, and I’m confident he’ll be back at the sharp end this year.
“Connor and Will are going to both benefit from having each other as team-mates and I believe both can really shine this year. As a team, we’re very excited to be joining the GT5 Challenge for the first time and can’t wait to go racing at Thruxton in May.”
Packed grids and close racing makes the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. In 2021, the series will compete across both British GT and British Touring Car Championship weekends, sharing a grid with the G40 Cup.
