Ginetta Set To Sign Off 2023 With Season-High Entry

Ginetta will bring their 2023 race season to a close on a high with their biggest entry of the campaign across their three championships. There will be some exciting new entries and returning drivers for the finale at Donington Park next month (21/22 October).

Drivers continue to get a taste of the Ginetta championships ahead of prospective full-season entries in 2024. The headline GT Pro class of the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship returns to a capacity 11 cars. The Ginetta GT Academy grows to a season-high 20-car grid.

An exciting new addition to the GT Pro ranks comes in the form of Junior podium-finisher Mckenzie Douglass. After impressing over two seasons in the championship, the Welshman becomes the latest driver to climb Ginetta’s renowned driver development ladder. McKenzie will race a G56 GTP prepared by Fox Motorsport.

Returning to the GT Pro grid will be Blake Angliss, linking up with Xentek Motorsport. This is his third appearance of the year. He has been very impressive across his two outings to date at G Fest Silverstone and Snetterton. He won four times and took nine podium finishes from nine races.

The GT Academy

In the GT Academy, Steve Williams (MRM) will make his first outing of the season having raced full-time in 2022. Former British GT racer Stephen Fresle (Century Motorsport) returns to one-make Ginetta racing for the first time since competing in the GT4 SuperCup back in 2014.

Rookie champion-elect Matt Shaw steps up to the GTA class with Raceway Motorsport. There are two new additions to that class in Thomas Balfe, son of British GT race-winner Shaun Balfe, and Luke Shaw. Max Ratel meanwhile, son of SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stéphane Ratel, continues for his second consecutive weekend.

There’s a new talent joining the Junior grid too meanwhile in Thomas Ingram Hill. The successful young karter, who this season has been competing across the UK and Europe in multiple series including the British Kart Championships and BNL Karting Series, will join the action with reigning champions R Racing.

The Donington Park season finale is set to be an unmissable weekend of Ginetta action. It has season-high entry across the championships and multiple champions still to be won. All the action from the close of the 2023 race season will stream live on Ginetta’s YouTube channel.
