Today we mark International Womens Day by sharing the news of four female GT Academy drivers making their Ginetta championship debut this season. Amy Tomlinson, Emma Tomlinson, Lucy Tomlinson and Charlotte Lowe will take to the wheel of the G56 GTA for the first round of the championship at Oulton Park in April.
Tomlinson siblings Amy, Emma and Lucy have taken a leap onto the Ginetta Motorsport ladder this year, following in the footsteps of their Father and Le Mans winner, Lawrence Tomlinson. Ginetta Managing Director, Amy Tomlinson will compete against her two siblings in her debut car racing season following an extensive testing program over the winter break.
Amy Tomlinson, said: “we are extremely excited to be joining the GTA grid this season – especially all being able to compete together.”
“Having been part of the paddock supporting our brother Freddie throughout his racing career, to be on the other side of the fence although initially daunting will give us all a completely new perspective and we are excited for the challenge ahead”.
The Tomlinson’s will compete for the Ginetta GT Academy rookie title, joined by Charlotte Lowe. Brought into the world of motorsport from a young age with Rally driving parents, Charlotte takes the wheel for her car racing debut at Oulton Park, 07-10 April.
Charlotte Lowe, said: “Racing has always been in my blood from a young age, with both parent’s rally driving. They weren’t keen on me racing, so I didn’t!
“My only regret now is wishing I started younger… but I keep telling myself “It’s never too late to be who you might have been”.
2023 will see the most female competitors in the Ginetta Championships this season. A total of 9 confirmed women racing drivers across three Championship grids. Further announcements to follow!
