Since making his debut in the G50 Cup in 2009, White has been one of the stalwarts of the Ginetta paddock with more than 270 race starts to his name. In his ten seasons in the GT4 SuperCup alone, he’s recorded no less than 77 class wins and 132 podium finishes.
Crowned Am class champion in 2015 and 2016, the Somerset racer has gone on to lead the way in Pro Am over the last two seasons. 18 podiums in 19 races earnt him the 2020 crown, before he dominated last year with 17 victories across the 23 race campaign.
White has therefore written his name into the record books as the first ever four-time Ginetta class champion. His quest to make it five titles will come behind the wheel of a Ginetta G56 GT4, which he has gained experience in already in the British GT Championship and 24H Series.
Colin White: “I’m delighted to be back in the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup this season and I’m looking forward to the challenge of driving the G56 GT4 in the series after getting to grips with it in some endurance racing.
“The new car has a lot more power in a straight line than the G55, but you must be careful with how you drive it to look after the tyres. I’ll be up against a lot of good competitors this season, but I want to win the Am title again.”
The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2022, the series will be contested over seven race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship, with a major change seeing the introduction of the Ginetta G56 GT4 as the lead car.
