The teenage talent moves up the Ginetta ladder after two successful seasons in the Juniors. Following a six year career in karting, he hugely impressed in his debut car-racing campaign in 2019 to finish as the third best rookie with ten class podium finishes.
Rattican built on that experience and stepped up to become a full title contender last year. A consistent presence at the front of the grid throughout the season, he went on to record an unbeaten tally of 15 podium finishes including four race wins en-route to second in the final standings.
The Sheffield based racer, who celebrated his 17th birthday yesterday, is set to be the youngest driver on the GT4 SuperCup grid this year. He got behind the wheel of his new Ginetta G55 for the first time last week and has a comprehensive testing programme planned ahead of the new season.
Josh Rattican: “I’m delighted to confirm my entry for the 2021 Ginetta GT4 SuperCup. Whilst SuperCup may be seen as a big step from Ginetta Juniors, I see it as a natural progression in my journey to reach international GT racing.
“I’m absolutely ready for it and having served my apprenticeship in Juniors (and karting before that), I’m confident I have what it takes to win races in a senior class. The championship prize is without doubt the best on offer in British motorsport today and I have my eyes firmly set on it.”
The Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2021, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
