Ravi Ramyead has continued his perfect G Fest event with two more race victories on the Silverstone circuit. This makes it four from four for him so far in the 2023 Ginetta GT Academy.
For the second day in a row it was Ramyead (Century Motorsport) who led the way in qualifying, this time on the shorter Silverstone National circuit. There was only half a tenth of a second between him and Nick White (Raceway Motorsport) though. Mackenzie Walker (Assetto Racing) was also close behind.
The narrow margins in qualifying between the top three were replicated in the opening race of the day, as they ran in formation throughout. Both White and Walker pushed hard to try and forge overtaking opportunities. But they couldn’t prevent Ramyead from adding to his Friday double.
There was further frustration for White. A five second track limits time penalty dropped him to third in the final result behind Walker. Century Motorsport team-mates Thomas Shelley and Ed Acres traded fourth place through the race, with Shelley eventually securing the spot.
Matt Shaw qualified on the rookie class pole position and went on to secure another victory in sixth overall. Paul Livesey (Xentek Motorsport) was set for seventh. However, a last lap spin, plus a track limits penalty, dropped him back to tenth.
Marc Elman (SVG Motorsport) was therefore for seventh ahead of evo magazine journalist James Taylor (W2R). He made his second appearance of the season after securing a two podium finishes in the Oulton Park opener.
Lucy Tomlinson completed the rookie top three ahead of GTA contender Phil McGarty (Alastair Rushforth Motorsport). Emma and Amy Tomlinson recovered from spins to complete the rookie finishers as Charlotte Lowe unfortunately had to retire.
Ramyead continued his perfect winning record for the event with another controlled drive in race four. While he had White looming in his mirrors throughout the 20-minute encounter, he was able to keep him at arms’ length. Second place for White though was enough to secure him a 12th consecutive podium finish to start the season. This sets a new record in the championship.
Walker completed the podium for his third podium of G Fest so far ahead of Acres, who was fourth throughout. Shelley held fifth in the early stages before losing ground. Shaw took the place on the road before collecting 15 seconds of track limits penalties.
He still secured the rookie class win in seventh overall behind Taylor and Shelley. Livesey ending an action-packed race in eighth ahead of McGarty and Elman. After a disqualification for Just due to a yellow flag infringement, Lucy Tomlinson and Lowe ended the race with rookie silverware.
