Ginetta Junior Talents Amongst Returning Drivers For 2025

Ginetta Junior Championship front-runners Alfie Slater and Max Cuthbert are part of the latest group of drivers announced to be competing across the Ginetta championships in 2025.

Slater and Cuthbert will be returning to the Junior grid with the reigning champions R Racing. Slater impressed throughout his rookie campaign this year, securing an overall pole position at Snetterton and a podium finish at Brands Hatch before scoring a triple rostrum in the Winter Series.

Cuthbert meanwhile starred in the Winter Series too, setting the pace in qualifying and securing a maiden overall top three result as he took the rookie class title. He and Slater join Red Bull Junior Team duo Rocco Coronel and Scott Lindblom in R Racing’s fleet of new Ginetta G40 Junior Evos.

Jamie Ross, R Racing: “We are thrilled to have Alfie and Max back for the 2025 season. Alfie had a very strong end to the 2024 season and impressed at the Winter Series. We are hoping with a strong winter testing programme, we can attack the season as strong as possible.

“Max has come on amazingly since joining the team, showing some great pace with a pole position at the Winter Series, so we are all very excited to see what he can do in the 2025 season. We will all continue to work hard in the build up to round one, to come out the blocks as strong as possible.”

Following on from the first five drivers announced to be entering the GT Championship next year, joining them on the grid will be Amy Tomlinson. She moves up the Ginetta ladder to race a G56 GTP8 after two successful seasons in the GT Academy.

A brilliant tally of 13 podium finishes took her to rookie class vice-champion honours in her debut season, before she moved up to the GTA class this year and made four more visits to the podium including her first-ever Ginetta class victory at Donington Park.

Amy Tomlinson: “I’m super excited to step up into the GT Championship after two years learning and competing in the GT Academy. I look forward to racing against familiar faces from GTA and some new!”

A new addition to the Ginetta paddock for 2025 will be Cameron Pratt-Thompson in the GT Championship. The young driver made his car-racing bow in the Junior Saloon Car Championship two years ago, with an impressive campaign seeing him finish as overall vice-champion and top rookie.

Pratt-Thompson made the transition to GT racing this year, piloting a Ginetta G55 Supercup in the British Endurance Championship with SVG Motorsport. With that experience under his belt, he will stay with SVG as he makes his one-make Ginetta racing debut next season in a G56 GTP8.

Cameron Pratt-Thompson: “It’s great to be driving with SVG Motorsport again in 2025 after a few successful races with them in the G55 Supercup car this year. The step up to the GTP8 takes me another step closer on the path to GT3 racing and being on a single class grid should give me a chance to develop my driving with a clear benchmark. I can’t wait to get started.”

Andy Johnson, SVG Motorsport: “We are proud to announce Cameron Pratt-Thompson in our GT Championship line-up for 2025. Following a successful season in BEC last year with us, Cameron makes the step into the GTP8 and shows real promise in this championship. Despite Cameron’s young age, he has a mature outlook and style to his driving, and we are very excited to have him onboard again.”

Returning to the GT Academy grid meanwhile will be Mike West, continuing a long-association with Ginetta racing that begun in the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club in 2017. Three years in the G40 Cup followed, where he celebrated multiple class wins in the Chairmans Cup.

West made his GT Academy debut in 2022 and returned to the grid for a partial campaign this year, impressing with eight GTA class podium finishes in a partial campaign. The 57-year-old racer will remain with E3 Sport in the GT Academy next season.

Jim Edwards, E3 Sport: “I’m really pleased to have Mike back with us for 2025 as it marks an eighth season working with him. For me, Mike’s best weekend to date was the final round at Brands Hatch this year which included his best drive and a class victory, so were hoping to build on that from the beginning in 2025.”
