Carl Garnett confirms his return to the Ginetta grid this season, competing in the Protyre Motorsport GT Championship with Breakell Racing. Following a year out of the driving seat in 2022, the 46-year-old driver from York sets out for a fresh start with a new team, new car, and new championship.
Garnett made his Ginetta debut in 2019, competing in the GT4 SuperCup series, and has since secured 13 race wins and 38 podiums. After three years behind the wheel of a G55 GT4, Carl steps up to the all-new G56 GT Pro. His 2023 Championship entry marks his 4th season racing with Ginetta.
Carl said: “I really missed racing last year, so I jumped at the opportunity to get back on the grid this year with Breakell Racing. I’m looking forward to racing the new Ginetta G56 for the first time and hopefully we can enjoy a positive year of results.”
Carl Garnett will be teamed with Ruben Hage this season, both competing in the GT Pro class, supported by established race team Breakell Racing.
James Breakell, Team Principal, said: “While Carl [Garnett] may not have raced last year, his vast experience and success when racing the Ginetta G55 in the GT4 SuperCup means we’re confident he will hit the ground running in the new car.”
