A quartet of Ginetta G57 prototypes head to Donington Park this weekend (16/17 July) for the second round of the new-for-2016 Britcar Dunlop Prototype Series.
The Ginetta G57 was a double winner at Silverstone in April, and no less than four drivers are hoping for more of the same in the one hour endurance encounter this weekend. Leading the charge, Ade Barwick, Colin White, Ollie Jackson and Paul White will pilot a car each.
With Lawrence Tomlinson out of the county, Ginetta’s new Commercial Director and former Dubai 24 Hour winner Ade Barwick will take his seat in the Simpson Motorsport prepared machine. No stranger to endurance racing, Ade will be joined at the team by Paul White, who finished second in the opening race of the Prototype Series season.
G57 stalwart and endurance expert Colin White will pilot a third car. The long-time friend of Ginetta has a fantastic track record in both the G57 and G55 and will be hoping his experience will afford him some strong results in Leicestershire.
The final car will be driven by BTCC star Ollie Jackson, who confirmed a late entry in a fourth 6.3-litre V8 Ginetta G57. The former Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup racer will compete as part of Ryan Connolly’s new team, Race Performance.
With the series racing its halfway point this weekend, the Britcar Dunlop Prototype Series will head to Snetterton in early September, with the championship drawing to a close at Spa Francorchamps in October.
