Shawn Fleming Back For 2016 GRDC+

Shawn Fleming Back For 2016 GRDC+

As one of the original members of the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club, triple race winner Shawn Fleming is back once again to contest the GRDC+ category.

The 49 year old Garage Owner from High Wycomb became a part of the Ginetta fraternity in 2014 as one of the first people to sign up for the British GT-supporting Ginetta Racing Drivers Club in its maiden year.

Moving into the GRDC+ for 2015, Fleming enjoyed no less than eight podium appearances, including three race wins, on his way to a top four championship finish. Now, he has his sights firmly set on consistent champagne and silverware as well as a top three series finish.

Shawn Fleming, driver:“I’m really looking forward to competing in the GRDC+ again this season. You get to compete on some of the UK’s best tracks, and the grid is made up of a fantastic bunch of drivers. We all have such a great time on and off track. Without a doubt, the highlight of 2015 was having the chance to race at Spa Francorchamps and returning back there will be awesome.”

Hayley Hickmore, Ginetta Championships Coordinator:“It’s been fantastic following Shawn’s driver progression from those first days in the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club to his maiden win. He and his partner Sharon are a perfect example of the all-encompassing nature of the GRDC as she enjoys the hospitality facility along with the other partners, wives and children and ensures everyone has a fantastic time at each and every round. I am thrilled they are both set to return!”

The GRDC+ provides Ginetta Racing Drivers Club graduates with an arena in which to race their road-legal Ginetta G40 Club Cars. It is also the ideal starting platform for drivers who have too much circuit racing experience for the pure entry-level Ginetta Racing Drivers Club.

In support of the British GT, the 2016 GRDC+ calendar will feature standalone races, plus outings as part of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid. Drivers can take in Brands Hatch, Rockingham, Silverstone, Spa Francorchamps, Snetterton and Donington Park.
