Richard Isherwood Swaps Remote Control Cars For The Real Thing

Former Tamiya Eurocup UK and European Champion, Richard Isherwood is set to swap his miniature car for the real deal after joining the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club for 2016.

The 52 year old from York has done a handful of track days in the past, but aside from piloting his remote controlled car around UK track, this is the first time he’s really put the ‘pedal to the metal’. He’s aiming to enjoy the racing and pick up some champagne and silverware along the way.

A Director at YCE Catering Equipment Ltd, Richard is fiercely competitive and relishes a challenge, so expect him to be challenging at the front of the pack right off the bat.

Richard Isherwood, driver;“I am really excited to begin my ‘full-size’ car racing career! The easy access to motorsport and hand holding approach all at a reasonable price point presented an opportunity to take part and race with the minimum effort on my part – one which was just too good to miss!”

Hayley Hickmore, Ginetta Championships Coordinator;“It’s great to hear Richard is joining us in 2016. It will be great to see him translate all that knowledge he has racing remote control cars into the real thing!”

Created exclusively for newcomers to the sport, the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club fulfils that racing itch.
