The covers finally came off the highly anticipated Ginetta G57 today (14 January 2016), as the brand new prototype race car made its public debut at Autosport International.
Petrol heads flocked to Ginetta’s stand in Birmingham’s NEC to be amongst the first people to catch a glimpse of this ground-breaking new car. Launched by Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson, the 580bhp prototype caused quite a stir.
As one of the fastest track day machines on the market, the G57 represents a fun and accessible way to get on track for less than £200,000. Weighing in at under 900kgs, this ultimate track day toy is powered by a fearsome Chevrolet-sourced LS3 6.3-litre V8 engine which is developed in-house at Ginetta HQ. The unrestricted aerodynamic package is just the icing on the cake.
Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman of Ginetta, said: “I am delighted to finally be able to show the G57 to the public and what better place to launch the car than Autosport International! The reception has been fantastic so far, and they haven’t even heard the engine running yet! The team in Leeds have worked incredibly hard to develop this car and we can’t wait to show you what it’s made of throughout 2016.”
If you want a slice of the action, you can experience life in the cockpit of one of Ginetta’s top track day machines, the Ginetta G40 Club Car. Having taken over the 5,400m2 indoor Adrenaline Zone in Hall 4, Ginetta are offering high-intensity passenger ride aboard one of the cars.
Ginetta’s very own racing drivers – which include 2014 Ginetta Junior Champion Jack Mitchell, karting star Luca Hirst and British Rallycross stars Ashley and Russ Simpson - will pilot the G40s around the custom built indoor track with the utmost precision. This unforgettable experience is just £15pp and tickets can be purchased at the Adrenaline Zone on the day.
