Gary Wager, the Managing Director of Select Fire Services, has today confirmed his plans to return to the GRDC+ for 2016, following an enjoyable two years racing behind the wheel of his road-legal Ginetta G40 Club Car.
Wager, who lives in Harlow, Essex, was a part of the inaugural Ginetta Racing Drivers Club in 2014. He went on to graduate into the GRDC+ last season, where he finished fifth overall in the championship, taking a podium result along the way.
Prior to joining the Ginetta Family, Gary had a deep-rooted love for fast cars and motorbikes but had never found an easy and cost-effective route into racing, instead spending much of his free time attending a number of track days.
Gary Wager, driver; “When I originally heard about the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club, the all-inclusive package was too good to miss. After five years of track days, it seemed like the next step was racing. I had always thought of it but never actually made the effort to go and start it. With the Ginetta deal, it’s all done for you, just get in the car and go as fast as you can and try and win!”
Hayley Hickmore, GRDC+ Championship Coordinator; “We’re all delighted to have Gary back with us for 2016. He’s a great character in the paddock and a fantastic driver to watch. Having already been on the podium, I’m sure that maiden win isn’t far away now!”
The GRDC+ provides Ginetta Racing Drivers Club graduates with an arena in which to race their road-legal Ginetta G40 Club Cars. It is also the ideal starting platform for drivers who have too much circuit racing experience for the pure entry-level Ginetta Racing Drivers Club.
In support of the British GT, the 2016 GRDC+ calendar will feature standalone races, plus outings as part of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid. Drivers can take in Brands Hatch, Rockingham, Silverstone, Spa Francorchamps, Snetterton and Donington Park.
