Retired Yorkshireman Richard Anderson has become the latest racing driver to join the Ginetta motorsport family after signing up to make his competitive debut with the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club, in his road-legal race car.
A track day enthusiast and avid collector of classics and Supercars, Richard popped into the Ginetta factory to discuss ways he could turn his occasional pastime into a more permanent hobby.
He said;“From my track day background, Ginetta were already on my radar but after visiting the factory, I was really attracted to the idea of a fully managed race season alongside like-minded people. It’s a great British business and is local to me, I can’t wait to begin!”
With Ginetta removing all the ‘unknowns’ associated with going racing for the first time, Richard became one of the first drivers to commit to the 2016 Ginetta Racing Drivers Club.
Along with his fellow Ginetta Racing Drivers Club members, Richard will enjoy two tutored track days with Ginetta prior to the start of the season, following which Ginetta will arrange his ARDS test and once passed, will complete his transformation into a fully-fledged Ginetta racing driver.
Created exclusively for newcomers to the sport, the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club roars into action at Rockingham Motor Speedway on 30 April. If you want to tick ‘become a racing driver’ off your bucket list, check out ginetta.com/grdc to discuss how you can get on the grid.
