Stuart Middleton claimed the final Ginetta title of 2015 after cinching the KICK Start Energy Drink Ginetta Junior Winter Series title with a race in hand at Snetterton today (08/11/2015).
A hat trick of wins was enough to give him an unassailable points lead after the first of the days pair of races, with the outgoing Ginetta Junior Scholarship dominating the two day mini-series from the outset.
Having qualified fifth, a storming start for the Douglas Motorsport racer saw him pick up a number of positions off the line, sweeping into the lead by the time the cars crossed the finish line for the first time.
With his position at the head of the field, the championship win then went down to the positions of Middleton’s closest rivals, Charlie Fagg and Connor Grady, who needed to finish inside the top three in order to keep the title fight alive.
Starting third, Fagg lost out on the frantic start and dropped to fifth. Although he picked up another place, a fall down the order to eighth in the closing laps was enough to give Middleton enough of a points gap to claim the championship.
One more race is set for 13.35 where the runners up, Rookie Champion and Hard Charger will be announced.
