Ben Green and his family-run Super Green racing team will graduate into the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup for 2016, it has been confirmed today.
Ben, who contested the KICK Start Energy Drink Ginetta Junior Championship throughout 2015, is the first driver to confirm their full-season intentions in the flagship championship for next year.
Having already purchased their Ginetta G55 GT4 car, the Super Green team are confident that Ben will soon get to grips with the 350bhp racer, thanks to a training year in the Junior feeder series.
Ben said of the announcement;"I'm very happy to announce myself as a Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup driver. The move from the KICK Start Energy Drink Ginetta Junior Championship into the much more powerful G55 GT4 car will be a big jump, but I am confident with the right coaching I will be able to bridge the gap.
“The car is much faster and the racing is just as close. It will be a two year plan, the first year to learn the car and how the weekends run, then the second year to really go for the championship title. We had a great learning year in the Junior series and I will be taking all my skills into the new car."
Ginetta Championships Manager Ashley Gallagher added;“I am delighted that Ben has committed to the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup for 2016. He’s the first driver to announce his entry into the series for next year, and will certainly be one to watch. The Super Green team are a great addition to our paddock, and we look forward to seeing them progress.”
