Glynn Geddie, Morten Dons and Aleksander Schjerpen are set to join Team LNT for this weekend’s VdeV Endurance Championship at Magny-Cours, alongside Lawrence Tomlinson and Mike Simpson.
Ginetta boss Tomlinson and Official Driver Simpson will share their Ginetta Prototype with Schjerpen, whilst Geddie and Dons will compete in a second factory-entered car. Fresh off the back of a victory in their previous VdeV appearance at Paul Ricard in August, Team LNT will be looking for similar success this weekend.
Both Schjerpen and Dons are no strangers to Ginetta machinery, having been teammates in a British GT4-entered Ginetta G55 GT4 throughout 2014, and taking the Teams Championship title with Century Motorsport.
Geddie will join Dons for his second race in the Ginetta Prototype, with the Danish driver having made a spectacular prototype debut with a victory at Imola in round two of the championship as part of the University of Bolton team.
Although this will be Geddie’s first race with Ginetta, his racing credentials speak for themselves, having taken Championship titles in the Dutch Supercar Challenge championship (20130, British GT Championship (2011) and Porsche Carrera Cup GB (2008, 2009).
Lawrence Tomlinson – Team LNT Ginetta Prototype:“I’m looking forward to being back in the VdeV paddock next weekend. The Ginetta Prototype showed its strength at Paul Ricard a couple of months ago, so we’ll be aiming for more of the same at Magny-Cours.”
Mike Simpson – Team LNT Ginetta Prototype:“Lawrence and I had a fantastic time at Paul Ricard with VdeV earlier this year, and of course, will be looking to repeat that success next weekend. For Aleksander, this race is effectively the ultimate customer test drive, and we’re going to show him just what the car can do!”
Aleksander Schjerpen – Team LNT Ginetta Prototype:“This is a great opportunity for me to join Lawrence and Team LNT in their amazing LMP3 car. I have been keeping an eye on LMP3 throughout this season as we work on our plans for 2016, so to get to drive one at this stage in an event with a European Le Mans Series winning team is a great. I am hoping that my previous single seater experience and my endurance experience from British GT will help me to settle into the car right away. Thank you to Lawrence [Tomlinson], Mike [Simpson] and Ginetta for this opportunity.”
Glynn Geddie – Team LNT Ginetta Prototype:“I am delighted to have this opportunity out the blue from Ginetta. I have been looking into LMP3 so the timing couldn’t be better to have a run in the Ginetta Prototype. After Ginetta wining the last round I know the car has the pace. We will have to see how testing goes and work our way to the front, but I am hoping to have a strong weekend, after not racing for a while.”
The Ginetta Prototype became eligible for V de V competition in May of this year. Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson and Official Driver Mike Simpson are both keen to showcase the new car outside of the European Le Mans Series in which it has made its name in LMP3 trim.
