Charlie Digby has today become the second driver to announce his entry into the 2015 KICK Start Energy Drink Ginetta Junior Winter Series.
A former karter, Digby graduates from two years with EasyKart (2013-2014) after progressing from the Cadet into Junior ranks.
The 14 year old from Hampshire is no stranger to the Ginetta G40 however, having spent 2014 testing with HHC Motorsport ahead of his racing debut.
Charlie Digby said;“The Ginetta G40 is a great car to drive, and I’m hoping my experience with HHC Motorsport will stand me in good stead on my debut! I’ve been following the main Ginetta Junior championship closely this season, and the competition is fantastic, so it’s safe to say I’m really excited to be joining the grid for the Winter Series.
Charlies father, Peter Digby, MD of Xtrac Transmissions added; “The Ginetta Junior series offer a great opportunity for ambitious drivers to take their first step into circuit racing from a young age, and is the natural progression from a start in karting. I’ve had the opportunity to race with Ginetta myself already this year, so I am confident Charlie is in safe hands and is on the right track to developing his motorsport career.”
Expect to see some healthy family rivalry too, as Charlie’s father Peter Digby contested the 2015 Ginetta Racing Drivers Club and brought home no less than three top five results in his maiden season, a tally his son will be keen to beat.
