Team LNT are determined to end their 2015 British GT season on a high, as Mike Simpson, Rick Parfitt Jnr, Steve Tandy and Tom Oliphant have silverware firmly in their sights ahead of this weekend’s finale.
After a season of highs and lows, the two car factory team are determined for a strong result in front of the crowds at their most local circuit.
Ginetta Factory Driver Mike Simpson and his co-pilot Steve Tandy took an impressive second place in the #32 car during the Oulton Park opener. Unfortunately for the pair luck hasn’t been on their side and despite strong pace, they have been denied a number of deserved top five finishes.
In the number #44 car, Rick Parfitt Jnr enjoyed his best weekend to date at the last event. He was awarded the Blancpain Driver Of The Weekend trophy and was in third position when the race came to an early end due to the rain. As the race was red flagged before Parfitt could complete his lap, the car was classified fourth owing to results being taken from the previous lap.
Mike Simpson, #32: “It’s the last round of the year, and Steve and I are looking to end it the same way we began – on the podium with a trophy in our hand. Team LNT have been on top form this year, never faltering in their preparation of what had the pace to be a strong season contender. Granted, the luck hasn’t been on our side, but we’ve got nothing to lose this weekend, so expect to see us going all out!”
Tom Oliphant, #44:"I'm really looking forward to the season finale, this year hasn't gone completely to plan in the GT3 [Tom is currently leading the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup]but I feel I am driving better every time I get in the car. Donington Park is a track that I really enjoy, I’ve been looking forward to this race for a while now and I'm confident that Rick, Team LNT and myself can have a very strong weekend."
Rick Parfitt Jnr, #44:"Following on from a strong result at Snetterton, I’m looking forward to finishing the season strongly at Donington Park. It will be great to have Tom back as we were both very quick in pre-season testing at the circuit. Furthermore, Donington Park has a strong musical link for me with it being the venue for The Monsters Of Rock which my father has headlined on several occasions. We’re both keen to put on a good show for everyone so what’s left to say except, ‘Let’s Rock’!"
