In what will be the final two races for the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club Class of 2015 before they graduate into GRDC+ for 2016. 19 novice racing drivers are preparing to give it their all at Donington Park.
Adrian Campbell-Smith has been unbeaten by the rest of the field this year, with his only omission from the top step of the podium coming at the hands of a one-off guest entry from CAR Magazine journalist James Taylor.
With the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club entrants not scoring points, the fight is on for bragging rights at the annual Ginetta Awards Dinner later this year. Once you take Campbell-Smith out of the mix, chances are the driver dubbed ‘runner up’ is going to be named Richard.
Richard Smith, Richard Evans or Richard Elliker that is. They have taken six podiums between them, with Mike Jarvis and Phil McGarty being the only other drivers to take home a trophy all season.
One driver to keep an eye on here will undoubtedly be Peter Digby. Having joined the grid at the second round, he’s skated around the periphery of a podium at both weekends he’s attended thus far, and no doubt the Xtrac boss will be looking to round out the season in style.
No strangers to the top five, expect Paul Garstang and Simon Walker to be challenging at the sharp end, whilst Roy Perkins, Paul Oliphant and Stefan Nadarajan have been having an awesome midfield battle, with Mark Cundy steadily climbing onto the back of the trio.
Completing the grid and regularly enjoying a fantastic fight for position are Colin Plumb, Dan Collinson, Mike Newbould, Steve Hughes and Jim Finneran.
