Fresh off the back of a Ginetta Prototype win at Paul Ricard less than a week ago, Team LNT have more champagne and silverware firmly in their sights when the European Le Mans Series rolls into Le Castellet this weekend.
Leading the driver’s classification heading into the penultimate round of the season, Charlie Robertson and Sir Chris Hoy hold a 12 point advantage at the top of the LMP3 class standings and aim to conclude the weekend with the biggest points cushion possible ahead of October’s season finale.
The pair has been a force to be reckoned with this year, taking two out of a possible three wins in the inaugural season of the LMP3 class and completely dominating the previous round at Red Bull Ring, taking the flag a full three laps clear of their closest rival.
Sitting third in the drivers classification, Gaëtan Paletou will once again be joined by Mike Simpson in the #2 Ginetta Prototype, after the Ginetta Factory Driver was forced to miss Round Three due to a clash with his British GT commitments.
The pair – whose car is also third in the teams classification – will undoubtedly be looking to get the jump on the University of Bolton entry and make it a Ginetta 1-2 in both sets of standings prior to the final round.
Following two 90 minute free practice sessions at Paul Ricard on Saturday, 5th September, qualifying for round four of the ELMS season will get underway at 09.30 (local time) on Sunday, 6th September, with the four hour race set to begin at 13.00 (local time). Live television coverage will be screened on Motors TV – check listings for details.
