Team LNT are looking to add more silverware to their trophy cabinet with a dovetailed race weekend, which sees the factory team enter a pair of cars in both the European Le Mans Series at Red Bull Ring and British GT at Spa Francorchamps on 11th/12th July.
Making their debut at Austria’s Red Bull Ring, Team LNT have high hopes for their two car team, with Charlie Robertson and Sir Chris Hoy having been unbeaten to pole position all season, a result which was bolstered by a historic victory in the series opener at Silverstone in April.
Currently sitting third overall in the standings, the pairing of Robertson and Hoy have their sights set on another win, but will face pressure from the second Team LNT car of Gaëtan Paletou and stand-in driver Mark Shulzhitskiy, the 2012 Nissan GT Academy winner from Vladivostok, Russia, with Paletou keen to secure a healthy points haul by the halfway point.
Team LNT ELMS driver Charlie Robertson said; “It should be a mega weekend, Red Bull Ring is another track I’ve got to learn but it looks a great place with a pretty cool background too – there’s a lot of history there. It’s going to be awesome to race there for the first time, and we want to focus on bridging the gap to the P2 cars, I think the track will suit the car and I’m feeling very positive. It’s been a dream come true for me so far this season, I can’t wait to be back in the car and I’m definitely aiming for the win.”
Paletou’s regular teammate and Ginetta Factory Driver Mike Simpson will instead appear at Spa Francorchamps to continue his commitment to British GT alongside Steve Tandy, with the pair looking to repeat their Oulton Park top three finish at the historic Belgian circuit, with a view to cement their position inside the championship top 10.
A second car will be fielded by the team for Rick Parfitt Jnr and Tom Oliphant. The pair secured a podium in the GT4 class at the circuit in 2014 and will no doubt be looking to replicate that success at the famous track this time out.
Ginetta Factory Driver Mike Simpson added;“Team LNT have been strong across the board in both ELMS and British GT this year, so we are looking forward to some strong results from all four of our cars. I am looking forward to driving the incredible Spa Francorchamps track with Steve [Tandy] and feel positive that both our car and that of Parfitt and Oliphant will enjoy a successful weekend.”
