Team BMR To Offer Young Racer Ginetta Junior Championship Drive

Leading BTCC outfit, Team BMR are set to offer one young racer a drive in the 2017 KICK Start Energy Drink Ginetta Junior Championship as part of their all-encompassing Motor Sport Academy – set to be launched at Thruxton Kart Circuit on Friday 8th May at 15.30pm.

So far in 2015, Team BMR have shown their dedication in supporting youngsters as they progress through the TOCA support package, including the signing of Ginetta Junior race ace Senna Proctor to their young driver programme.

Now, Team BMR are hoping to emulate the success of the Ginetta motorsport career ladder with the creation of a route from karting, through the TOCA support package, and ultimately into the British Touring Car Championship.

The aim for 2015 is to run race events at selected kart circuits throughout the UK, before their run their own standalone series in 2016, with the winner of the Junior BMR 250R being awarded a drive in the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship for the 2017 season.

Furthermore, first place in the Senior BMR 250R will win a sponsorship package of £50,000 for their 2017 racing budget for a BMR approved championship whilst the winner of the FWD BMR 250R will receive support on their road to another BTCC support.

Team owner and BTCC driver Warren Scott commented;“I am very excited at the launch of the BMR Motorsport Academy and Touring Kart programme and we as a team are thrilled to be in a position to be able to offer this opportunity to future stars of British motor sport, we can’t wait to get started and are delighted to have Senna on board to assist us in our project.”

KICK Start Energy Drink Ginetta Junior Championship Leader Senna Proctor said;“I am delighted to be a part of the BMR Motorsport Academy & touring kart programme. As someone climbing the motorsport career ladder as a BMR driver, it is great to be able to help other drivers on a similar path, and that is particularly important to me.”

Team BMR BTCC driver Aron Smith has been working hard on the project over the winter months and will be on hand at Thruxton to demonstrate the karts to members of the press and general public at 15.30pm along with teammates Jason Plato, Colin Turkington and Warren Scott, as well as Senna Proctor and Ashley Sutton.

As if that wasn’t enough, the BTCC drivers will be signing autographs and one lucky attendee will get the opportunity to win two VIP tickets to spend the weekend with Team BMR at rounds 7, 8 and 9 of the 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton this coming Saturday and Sunday (9/10 May).
