One of the premier drivers on the British sports car racing scene will move into the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup this season after Michael Caine confirmed that he will be racing in the Amigos branded G55 being run with JHR Developments for 2015.
Following a four-year residency with the British GT Championship, the 2012 champion and 2014 runner-up will switch to the British Touring Car Championship support series for his latest championship charge.
Amigos Tequila Beer, already confirmed as a series sponsor of the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, will sponsor the car with its unique Aztec branding and bespoke gold alloys, making it one of the most noticeable cars on the grid
Caine said;“I can’t wait to get out in the car! We have the best looking car and are running with the best team, so all I have to do now is work out how to get the most out of my Amigos Ginetta G55 GT4 car and we should do okay! Everyone has worked really hard to make this happen so it's important we all have a great year!”
Steve Perez added:“The best thing for the Amigos brand is for our extensively branded car to run at the sharp end. I only recently met Michael but quickly realised what a true gentleman he is, not to mention mighty quick too - we couldn't have found a better driver to champion our great brand.”
Steven Hunter, Team Principal at JHR Developments said; "I am incredibly excited to have such a great name joining the JHR Developments team and we are sure we will be one to watch from the first meeting."
Rounds one, two and three of the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup take place at Brands Hatch on April 4/5.
