Ginetta are delighted to welcome Team BMR to the 2015 KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship for 2015, with Senna Proctor set to race under the leading BTCC outfit’s banner.
16 year old Proctor made waves in 2014, claiming a top three finish at Knockhill before taking a trio of top three results in the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series in November 2014. Confirming his intentions to return to the grid last month, Proctor’s championship title charge has now been significantly buoyed by the involvement of Team BMR. The teenager’s car will continue to be run by defending drivers’ and teams’ champions JHR Developments.
Bridlington-based racer Proctor said; “It is a privilege to have signed with a team like BMR as their junior driver. With the calibre of drivers that they have acquired in only their third season in the BTCC, it is a great feeling to be part of that team and I look forward to working with them now and in the future. I want to prove myself as a BMR driver. The goal is Touring cars and hopefully Warren Scott can take me all the way!”
Team BMR owner and BTCC competitor Warren Scott is dedicated to supporting young British motorsport talent as they progress through the TOCA support package, and after witnessing the potential in Proctor during his debut racing season, the Hertfordshire based driver is excited to be adding the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior series to his team campaign for the upcoming season.
In addition to his BTCC involvement in 2015, Warren showed his enthusiasm in bringing youngsters through the TOCA support package and offering guidance for young British motorsport talent. Witnessing
Warren Scott said; “I am delighted that Senna is coming on board and I’m looking forward to being involved in his journey and building what I hope will be a long term relationship between the two of us, with the team being able to offer him guidance with the huge wealth of experience that we have.”
Proctors impressive track history started at the tender age of 10 with various karting test days, before he moved into Autograss aged 13 for his first competitive year in racing, during which he won the championship and was also awarded the 2012 Junior Driver of the Year Award.
In 2013, Proctor graduated to National level in the British Autograss Championship, finishing third overall and becoming the 2013 Junior North of England Champion after an outstanding season, before entering and finishing in the top ten of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship.
Team BMR recently announced the signing of current BTCC Champion Colin Turkington, former double champion Jason Plato, along with young gun and race winner Aron Smith, driving alongside Scott in the four Volkswagen CC’s in the Dunlop British Touring Car Championship for 2015.
The 2015 Dunlop British Touring Car Championship and support package season gets underway at Brands Hatch on April 4/5, and the team are looking forward to what is set to be a very exciting year.
