Ginetta Junior Scholarship finalist William Stacey has today announced his plans to contest the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship with JAM-sport.
The 14 year old racer from Essex competed in Rotax Mini Max and Junior Max in 2014 and now feels ready to progress into sports car racing as part of the British Touring Car Championship support series. William has his sights set on taking the Rookie title in his maiden year.
Stacey said;“It’s easy to see the progression that Ginetta offer, and racing in the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship should lead to a future in sports car racing.”
“Our performance in testing has been outstanding! The opening round of the season at Brands Hatch is not far away, where we can challenge for the rookie championship from the outset.”
The KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship will feature a maximum capacity grid in 2015, with all driver entries for the forthcoming season having already been filled. Highlighting the importance of the series to young racers aged 14-17 as they embark on their sports car careers, 26 entries have been placed for the upcoming campaign; which seems set to be one of the most competitive in the history of the ever-popular championship.
