Tollbar Racing has today confirmed the first two drivers to join their 2015 KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship team, as Alex Day and Tristan Charpentier, with both drivers eying up the Rookie honours.
Frenchman Tristan Charpentier who contested the World Championship in KFJ, as well as Euromax in Junior Max , and the French Championship in Junior Rotax is looking to take the rookie title, and believe the high-profile nature of the series will aid his progression into top-level motorsport.
Charpentier said; “It's a great opportunity for me to compete in the Ginetta Junior Championship this year I am looking forward to take the rookie title and a top 10 in the championship will be great for my first year in car racing.”
He will be joined at the team by Alex Day, who graduates from a past-season in the Junior Saloon Car Championship series, with the 15 year old Essex-based racer having won the three of the final five races in the series, as well as enjoying a second place starting from pit lane in the final race of the championship.
Alex Day added; “After a successful KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series, I am looking forward to some tough racing in the full KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship.”
Having been a part of the British Touring Car Championship package for many years, Tollbar Racing are looking forward to another successful year in the series, and their drivers are determined to bring home a collection of silverware on behalf of the Derbyshire team.
