Dan Zelos has today confirmed his entry into the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship for 2015, as he returns for a title charge with JHR Developments.
The 16 year old racing driver from Dereham, Norfolk, impressed on his rookie year with Ginetta, finishing fourth overall in a field of 24 drivers, taking two race wins, nine podiums and 11 top five finishes in the process.
Looking ahead to 2015, Zelos has his sights set firmly on a top three finish. He said; “I had two race wins in the KICK Start EnergyGinetta Junior Championship in 2014 and I would like to build on that and win more races.”
A former karter, Zelos came third in the 2013 British Mini Max Championship before graduating to the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship, and was attracted by the calibre of former karters who had contested the British Touring Car Championship support series.
With ambitions to following in the footsteps of Tom Ingram and Adam Morgan, Zelos is using his time with Ginetta to progress up the championship career ladder, before he hopes to move into the British Touring Car Championship.
Zelos’ results were also a key factor in his team, JHR Developments claiming the coveted ‘KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship Teams Championship’.
Steven Hunter, Team Principal at JHR Developments said; “We are delighted to have Dan back on-board again at JHR, especially after he enjoyed such a successful rookie season in Ginetta Juniors – given the pace he displayed in 2014, I’m sure he will be a consistent front-runner and title contender this time around, particularly with a year’s experience under his belt.”
