Inaugural Ginetta Racing Drivers Club (GRDC) champion Charles Ferguson is set to continue his motorsport journey with Ginetta, after announcing plans to graduate onto the Ginetta GT5 challenge grid as part of the GRDC+ for 2015.
Company director Ferguson, from Talygarn, Wales, was a force to be reckoned with during his maiden season. Unbeaten in all the races he competed in, he clinched the title with a race in hand at Donington Park last September.
Having only obtained his motorsport licence 12 months ago, Ferguson is now looking to once again be at the front of the pack, even getting amongst the G40 Club Cars racing sibling, the Ginetta G40 GT5, during the forthcoming season.
Ferguson said;“Ginetta made it easy for me to fulfil my ambition of becoming a racing driver, and I am looking forward to continuing that journey as part of the GRDC family. I have a lot to live up to following the success of 2014, and am looking forward to being a part of the bigger Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid, but above all, I want to enjoy myself, and hopefully hunt down a few GT5’s on the circuit!”
The GRDC+ will join the Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid in 2015, having replaced the Ginetta G20 class which was retired at the end of this season. They will take in five circuits as part of the British GT support series, visiting Rockingham, Silverstone, Spa Francorchamps, Brands Hatch and Donington Park.
