Caroline Returns To Ginetta Junior Grid With Pirtek Backing

KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series Champion Jamie Caroline has his sights set on the main series title in 2015 after confirming a return to the British Touring Car Championship support series with HHC Motorsport.

Carving a name for himself as one to watch during 2014, Caroline enjoyed two outright race wins and was on the podium no less than six times in his rookie year, before going on to take a dominant KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series victory with a clean sweep of race wins.

Caroline said;“I am incredibly excited to return to the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship in 2015. I cemented my knowledge of the car and the TOCA circuits last season, enjoying race wins and contesting the rookie cup, and now I plan to utilise that experience to win the championship outright, taking the most race wins in the process.”

For 2015, Caroline will be mentored by British Touring Car Championship driver and 2013 champion  Andrew Jordan as part of a new Pirtek driver programme. Jordan, who has previously raced the Team LNT Ginetta G55 GT3 in British GT

Jordan said; “Pirtek have been a part of myself and my father’s racing for the past 11 years, and in that time, our relationship and the profile of the brand has grown hugely. Together, we now want to be able to support a young driver as they make the same growth.

With that in mind, it’s great to be able to pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation of touring car driver. Having seen Jamie compete in 2014, it’s clear he has a bright future ahead of him and both myself and Pirtek look forward to being a part of his journey.”

Having switched to HHC Motorsport for his successful KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series bid, Caroline will remain with the Boroughbridge-based team for the forthcoming season. HHC Motorsport Commercial Director Charlie Kemp added; “We are delighted Jamie has joined our 2015 Ginetta Junior Team. He did a fantastic job and gelled perfectly with the team on the way to becoming 2014 Ginetta Winter Series Champion.

This year’s championship will be as fierce as ever with new competitive teams and drivers joining in the fight. We are looking forward to working closely with Jamie and hope to achieve race wins from the outset and ultimately the Championship.”

Caroline is hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous Ginetta Junior Winter Series champions Seb Morris (2011) and Harry Woodhead (2012), who both went on to lift the outright title the following year.
