Ollie Jackson Confirms Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Switch

Former British Touring Car Championship competitor Ollie Jackson has today confirmed a move to the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup for the 2015 season.

Having been a part of the TOCA package for many years, Jackson decided to turn his hand to the BRDC qualifying Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, which offered excellent value for money, whilst still featuring on ITV4’s live Sunday coverage.

Jackson said; “I am looking forward to joining the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup grid for the forthcoming season, I’ve watched them a whole lot over the past few years given their place on the BTCC support bill and they have always been hugely entertaining.

“It would be nice to find myself towards the front of the field and take home a selection of silverware, but there will undoubtedly be a grid of very strong drivers, often with a lot of experience in the G55, so I’m realistic about what I can achieve in year one!”

The Automotive Development Engineer from Surrey has an impressive motorsport CV to say the least, having previously finished second in the 2008 Caterham C400 Superlight Championship, third in the 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup GB ProAm1, before taking the title outright a year later.

Graduating to the British Touring Car Championship for 2012, Jackson enjoyed several top ten finishes with the AMD Golf in that year and the Speedworks Toyota Avensis in 2013 and was part of the Speedworks / Hughes Motorsport line-up for the Dubai 24 Hours earlier this month, taking second place in the SP3 Class and an impressive 22nd overall out of a 95 car field.

Ashley Gallagher, Championships Manager at Ginetta Cars said; “The Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is shaping up to be another ultra-competitive year, thanks - in part - to its status as a BRDC qualifying championship and new Pro-Am format, and the fact that Ollie has joined us from the BTCC is testament to the success of the series.”

Jackson admits his driving style is fairly aggressive, and he has a habit of making his racer ‘dance’ whilst using every inch of the tarmac, so he’s certainly going to be one to watch at the season opener at Brands Hatch on April 4/5.
