Danish driving sensation Patrik Matthiesen is set to contest the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship in 2015, having signed up for a season as part of Yorkshire based HHC Motorsport.
Matthiesen, who made his Ginetta debut in the 2014 KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series and enjoyed a podium finish at the event, has more than six years of national and international karting under his belt and is keen to embark on his first major challenge in the world of sports cars.
Matthiesen said; “2014 was a difficult year having only had limited opportunities to test prior to the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series, this was however replaced by a great deal physical and mental exercise. My result at Snetterton shows that I am prepared to take further developments which I expect to gain on through my work and involvement with HHC Motorsport.”
Charlie Kemp, Commercial Director of HHC Motorsport, added;“We are delighted to welcome Patrik into our team of drivers for 2015. The way he drove at Snetterton showed us that he has the ability to learn and drive a new circuit with experience beyond his years so hopefully after a decent amount of pre-season testing he should be very competitive.”
Matthiesen plans to use his season as part of the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship as his first step on the ladder to fulfil his dream of becoming a professional sports car driver and competing in the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hour race.
