Chris Babington has today confirmed his plans to progress into GRDC+ for 2015 after an enjoyable motorsport debut as part of the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club last year.
Having obtained his racing licence with Ginetta alongside 12 other novices, Babington contested three of the four Ginetta Racing Drivers Club race weekends in 2014, but plans to attend all races in 2015, including the highly anticipated round at Spa Francorchamps.
Babington said; “2014 was a great year – I finally fulfilled my dream of becoming a racing driver, and it was surprising how simple it was, Ginetta really did do the hard work for me! I felt that as the season progressed I pushed myself and the car both on and off track, so I am looking forward to taking the racing to the next level and joining the great friends I made last season for a ‘rematch’!”
With the goal of consistent top five results as well as appearances on the podium, Babington has bought a games console to learn the circuit configurations and plans to spend more time in his road legal Ginetta G40 Club car away from the circuit.
Initially attracted to the hand held approach to racing offered by Ginetta to newcomers to the sport, Babington enjoyed the professional training, exciting racing and social scene created by the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club, as was keen to progress onto the next level of racing alongside his new friends.
GRDC+ has already received unprecedented interest for 2015, thanks, in part, to the amalgamation of the series onto the Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid for the forthcoming season. Only a few spaces now remain for 2015, so if you're looking to join in the fun, call 0845 2 10 50 50
