KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship driver Harry Mailer has today confirmed his intentions to return to the British Touring Car Championship support series.
The 15 year old from West Sussex enjoyed a consistent debut season in the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship during 2015 and impressed during the Ginetta Junior Winter Series.
Mailer said;“I had a great time in the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship last year, it really does offer a level playing field for drivers making the move from karting into cars. Now that I have circuit experience under my belt, I’ll be pushing for consistent top 10 results.”
A racer since the age of eight, Mailer won his first race in a Rotax Minimax kart last year and has previous titles including Camberley Kart Club Novice Champion (2009), Camberley Kart Club Champion (2011), Comer Cadet Karting Championship and Forest Edge Comer Cadet Champion in 2012. He finished fifth overall in the Forest Edge Karting Championship in 2013 before switching to car racing.
A long time motorsport fan, Mailer has been a spectator at every Le Mans 24 Hours since he was five years old, and is hoping the clear Ginetta career ladder, with its newly announced route into Le Mans Prototypes with the Ginetta-Nissan LMP3, will help get him on track there in the not too distant future.
The KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship is nearing capacity for the 2015 season, any interested parties are urged to get in touch should they wish to join the British Touring Car Support Series. Contact Championship Manager Ashley Gallagher on 0845 2 10 50 50.
